20.30 Marius Beck (NO)
Although a newcomer, Marius Beck has already proven himself a convincing songwriter with a surefire instinct for a unique sound. An experienced live-performer, and musically in the sonic landscape somewhere between Jeff Buckley and early Coldplay, Marius’ hypnotic voice is a natural focal point, and an effective emotional tool for songs that grows on the listener with each play.

Magne Furuholmen about Marius Beck: “There is no guarantee that new artists who emerge through talent competitions deserves a place in the music industry – but there is no longer a guarantee of the opposite.

My ambition to participate in the first season of the program The Voice was simply a hope to meet young talents I could work with after the TV-lights were turned off, something Martin Halla’s platinum-selling “Winter Days” was the first example of.

Marius Beck is definitely such a talent. Marius writes lyrics and melodies with character in the singer-songwriter tradition, and has over the past year recorded the material for his debut EP “Majors & Minors” in London, produced by Martin Terefe and myself.

We hope you will enjoy this new exiting artist as much as we do."

21.30 Kaja Gunnufsen (NO)
Kaja Gunnufsen is a 25 year old singer songwriter based in Oslo, Norway. Her music is marked by a childhood listening through her father’s old record collection, and artists such as Neil Young have had a strong incluence on her musical expression. (She even has a ”Rust Never Sleeps” tattoo on the inside of her wrist).
Her music features delicate Norwegian lyrics reflecting the thoughts of an ostensibly lonely young girl whose stories are wrapped in dreamy piano and soft guitar soundscapes. Kaja manages to capture her audience not only with her innocent characteristic voice and fine melodies, but also through her presence and charm on stage together with her five piece band.
She recorded her first EP during the summer of 2012 (which was released shortly afterwards). The song, ”Hei Sveis”, was recommended by the music streaming service WiMP and became a hit with her generation in Oslo.
2013 began with the signing of a management deal with Brilliance, the release of the beautiful single ”Au”, followed by being chosen as ”Ukas Urørt” by the radio channel P3. After having delivered some impressive off-venue by:Larm shows in 2013, Kaja was booked for two of the biggest festivals in Norway, Slottsfjell and the Øya festival. At the same time her second single, ”Desp”, was listed on P3. This song is now nominated for ”Song Of The year” by the music magazine, Gaffa.
Kaja gives the Norwegian folkpop-genre a new and exciting face (with her different tales from her own and some of her acquaintances’ life in the Norwegian capital). Her music has been given attention outside the boarder with both JaJaJa and Nordic by Nature backing her great talents.
She is currently in studio finishing her debut album together with producer Kenneth Ishak (Heyerdahl). The album is scheduled to be released in the first quarter of 2014.

22.30 Disa (ICL)
Icelandic born Disa Jakobs is a singer and songwriter who left Reykjavik, Iceland to live in Copenhagen. Disa’s music is about challenging and expanding the boundaries of modern pop music, and she finds inspiration in the wild, Scandinavian nature but also by the likes of fellow contemporary and alternative artists such as Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Brian Eno and Fever Ray. Disa’s Music shares the qualities of her native country. It is cold yet compelling and you always sense an underlying risk of eruption.
Disa debuted in spring 2013 with the single ‘Sun’ that premiered on the lifestyle magazine Nowness.com. Subsequent, it created a lot of blog attention, with more than 10K views of the dark and beautiful video. The single was well received by the Danish press as well describing Disa’s vocals as “unearthly” and “angelic”.
With Disa’s symphonic and picturesque compositions, she is the latest demonstration of Iceland’s enormous surplus of artistic superiority. She springs from a musical tradition where the vocal is the primary and most important instrument. A tradition that transcends genres and musical predicates.

23.30 Nabiha (DK)
Within the last three years, Nabiha has catapulted herself into the arena of Denmark’s biggest pop acts. Nabiha’s sound is inspired by her North and West African roots as well as her love for pop, R&B and electronica. The release of Nabiha’s second album this year, “Mind The Gap”, has seen her go from strength to strength. “Mind The Gap” was certified with gold and platinum status for streaming and download, and the album was nominated for a Danish Music Award as Pop Album of the Year. The incredible success of the album ultimately led to a nomination for Nabiha as Female Artist of the Year.

After being a massive hit in Nabiha’s own home territory, “Mind the gap” has gone on to be an international hit in such countries as Hungary, Bulgaria, Holland, Belgium, and Poland. In the UK it went in at no.2 in the Urban Chart, no.3 in the Club Chart and no.5 in the Pop Charts. VH1 is already leading the support of the US by playlisting ‘Mind the gap’ and using her songs for several syncs on TV shows and other media platforms.

Nabiha is now looking forward to introduce a fresh and dynamic sound with her new single “Bang That Drum”. The single is also the official song for the European Championship in Handball 2014. It was released all over Scandinavia in January through Sony Music.

00.30 Kindered Fever (NO)
Kindred Fever is a duo from Haugesund comprised of Jarle Langåker (vocals / guitar) and Linn Sofie Hagen Olsen (drums / trumpet). The band came to life in February 2012 and their first rehearsal also happened to be the first time the two of them actually met. Since then, they’ve made their mark on the west coast, playing dark, heavy music that stretches from surf rock to bloodthirsty heavy rock. Exactly a year after their first rehearsal, the duo released their debut “Tabula Rasa” via the label Daniel Engen Productions.
In June 2013, they were named band of the week on NRK P3 Urørt (the Norwegian equivalent of BBC Introducing), “Tabula Rasa” was subsequently playlisted and received terrific response after being played on the influential radio show Popsalongen.
The duo is currently working on their new material and will release a single through the Diamond Club label in the near future. A music video is also on the agenda.
“Big guitar riffs and heavy drums awaken our primal instincts – Kindred Fever paints blues rock in dark colors. The White Stripes of the West coast make grim, hypnotic music with high intensity.” (NRK P3)
